From Scratch: How to Make Mouthwatering Tomato Sauce for Perfect Pasta Every Time

Ingredients:
- 8 oz. pasta of your choice (spaghetti, linguine, penne, etc.)
- 1 can of crushed tomatoes (28 oz.)
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh basil
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the saucepan, and sauté for 2-3 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
- Add the can of crushed tomatoes to the saucepan and the dried basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Stir the tomato sauce well and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes until it thickens.
- Drain the pasta and add it to the saucepan with the tomato sauce.
- Mix the pasta and tomato sauce until the pasta is coated evenly.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil if desired.
Cooking Tips:
- Add some fresh vegetables such as bell peppers, zucchini, or mushrooms to the tomato sauce to make the dish more nutritious.
- Add some red pepper flakes or chilli powder to the tomato sauce if you like a spicier sauce.
- You can also use canned diced tomatoes instead of crushed tomatoes if you prefer a chunkier sauce.
